Jip.io is a new social marketplace, seeking to change the way people use stuff together. Many of us have lots of things we don’t use, but are too valuable to us to throw away. To try and sell, though, is a hassle, especially to total stranger on Craigslist or Ebay. Jip.io is different. We connect friends through social networks, creating room for friendly transactions. We make it easy to snap, tag and add items. And, in contrast to current marketplaces, Jip.io does not force the user into making one kind of transaction. For example, you might be happy to lend something but not ready to sell it yet. You can then easily set up a 'lend' status for that particular item and see which friends are interested. People are very well willing to share things, but do not have the space to do so privately and securely.
